We are located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and conduct our business through virtual counselling and some face-to-face counselling. Most counselling will be done virtually, via Skype or Facetime. However face-to-face meetings can be arranged at a mutually agreed upon time.

With 30+ years of experience in education, Rupa Mehra is a Student Sucess coach who specializes in both academic and social-emotional areas. Specializing in preparing students for their post-secondary, she also has a strong working knowledge of adolescent needs. She has recently been certified as a Crisis Responder with the Kid's Help Line and has used her past certification in First Aid Mental Health to help students embrace our challenging world. She works with students from grades 8 onward providing coaching in the following areas:

- Executive functioning skills
- Social-emotional support
- The journey towards post-secondary studies

Our Approach To Educational Coaching
Our philosophy is to do many things exceptionally well without making false claims. We help you prepare, research, apply, and decide. College/university admissions have become hyper-competitive; it is important for students to have the support they need in their educational journey. Most schools receive thousands of applications each year and students are applying to more and more schools. This process has become more sophisticated and in many cases parents are confused by the process. We are here to walk you through it.
What does an Independent Counsellor do?
Our educational coaching service focuses on all aspects of the application process. We help brainstorm essays, outlines, and a target school list. We can also offer suggestions for college/university tours and summer programs to help students prepare for life after high school. Anyone can hang up a shingle and claim to be an independent counsellor, so how do we stand out from the rest?
Ask around! If you have had friends use a counsellor before, ask them and their parents what their experience was like. Meet with them! Many independent counsellors are open to meeting with high school counsellors to go over what they offer the students. This can be invaluable when a parent asks your opinion.
When Can An Independent Counsellor Be Helpful?
The admission process requires a lot of organization and self-discipline, especially if students are applying to top-50 schools that require many essays. Following all the deadlines, drafting the essays, preparing for interviews, and choosing a school is a lot like taking another AP or IB class. We can offer you the helpful guidance you need to be successful with your post-secondary applications.
